摘要

Road lighting installations are designed by calculating the performance in terms of luminancedistribution. Not only is luminaire photometry needed, but also the visual property of the road, which is usually taken from the CIE Recommended Tables. However, these standards are over 30 years old and may not represent the current road materials. Therefore, the French Ministry of Equipement decided to perform new measurements of the main road surfaces currently used in France, at different ages. It was shown that the new photometries differ greatly from the CIE tables. This paper deals with the impact of using the standard or the real tables for the road lighting design and evaluating the economic cost of typical lighting installations when using various road surfaces. The results raise the question of defining new standards as well as including the choice of materials in the cost due to the lighting equipement.
