Anaerobic Digestion (AD) reduces the odor of waste, substantially reduces methane Green House Gas (GHG) emissions while producing renewable energy. However, AD substantially increases fugitive ammonia emissions from digestate storage, NOx emissions from power generation, while producing a low quality gas with poor economic benefits. This paper describes an alternative process configuration that doubles or triples AD income without increasing the capital and operating costs. Inexpensive pretreatment,ammonia reclamation, and biomethane production technologies are presented.
