Surgical Treatment of Hemorrhoidal Prolapse by Means of Mucosectomy and Anoplasty - A Closed Manual Technique. (MAC Technique)

Purpose: This study describes a new technique for the resection of prolapsing internal hemorrhoids means of a closed manual surgical technique.Methods: Eighty patients with grade II-IV hemorrhoids were treated with technique over a three-year period. Data end-points include anesthetic technique, operative positioning, surgical time, postoperative analgesia, length of hospitali-zation, complications, and patient satisfaction. Data were collected prospectively.
