There is commonly known that dissolved organic matter (DOM) is an important component of the soil environment. Researchers characterize DOM, its variability, chemical composition (1) and sources (2). Authors present data of translocation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) from the organic layers into the mineral soil horizons, which can reach 10-40 g DOC m~(-2) year~(-1) (3). Some authors claim that there is no effect of tree species on chemical properties of dissolved organic carbon (4). The aim of this study was to characterize the amount and movement of dissolved compounds of organic carbon and nitrogen (DON) in various podzol soils located in different type of forest sites. Sudety Mountains - south- west Poland was the object of the researches.
