Beneficial endosymbioses formed by legumes with nodule bacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are sensitive to different kind of stresses but at the same time they can relieve stress effect on plants. That is why the identification of plant genes involved in control over adaptations of legume symbioses to stresses is important. Two mutants with changed reactions to stresses: SGEcrt (erf) with hypersensitivity of roots to mechanical impedance (Tsyganov et al, 2000) and SGECd1 (cdt) with increased tolerance to cadmium (Cd) (Tsyganov et al., 2004) have been analysed by their ability to interact with Rhizobium and mycorhhizal fungi.
