摘要

On the study of kansei engineering and product seriation, this paper presents a industrial design method on kansei image extension. Kansei image comes from people's perceptual cognition on the elements of product design. A ideal design to a large extend depended on how well the designer understood the product image and whether there could be a kind of potential spiritual communication between designer and user. So the quality of design will be greatly improved if taking the kansei image as design elements in product seriation. Kansei image in a serial design can be extended from two aspects. One is the extension in perceptual level of cognition, it can form three develop levels from representation to imagination and belonging. The other is the fitness in fashion trend. The design concepts of product seriation based on extension of kansei image not only build relationship on representation and connotation, but on perceptual cognition and fashion trends between products and consumers. It will achieve the perfect combination with perceptual cognition of consumers and comprehensive quality of product.
