The climate chamber experiments on thermal and humid responses of thirty local people in the hot-humid area of China were conducted under high temperature (29°C, 32°C) and humidity (50%, 70%, 90%) conditions. Both air temperature and relative humidity had significant impacts on human responses. The influences of high humidity on human thermal and humid responses were more significant in high temperature conditions. The upper limits of the 90% and 80% acceptable range were determined as 30.3°C and 32.3°C in ET~* for people in the hot-humid area.
