Monoclonal antibodies to human seminal plasma proteins

Similarly as seminal plasma of various other species, human seminal plasma contains a number of components including proteins participating in individual steps of the fertilization process. We have generated antibodies to sperm and in our panel of mouse monoclonal antibodies to human spermatozoa (Hs-series, Prague) several antibodies reacted with human seminal plasma proteins on the sperm surface. Proteins detected by these antibodies were characterized in more detail using indirect immunofluorescence, Western blot techniques and MALDI TOF sequence analysis. Possible function(s) of antibody-targeting protein(s) was investigated.
