Catalytic organic transformation via cleavage and reconstruction of C-C bonds under mild reaction conditions is of great significance. We have already reported the first example of deallylation of homoallyl alcohols via β-carbon (β-allyl) elimination catalyzed by homogeneous ruthenium complexes. Afterwards, Oshima and coworkers reported palladium- and rhodium-catalyzed similar deallylation reactions leading to allyl transfer reaction of homoallyl alcohols to aldehydes and/or aryl halides. On the other hand, development of heterogeneous catalysts for organic synthetic reaction is of great importance because of their practical application in chemical industries, especially in green chemical processes. However, few heterogeneous catalysts have been applied to these reactions up to the present. Here, we report the first example of heterogeneous and additive-free allyl transfer reaction of homoallyl alcohols to aldehydes via cleavage of a C-C bond (Scheme 1).
