Over the last hundred-odd years, the motion picture has progressed from silent film to talkie, and from black-and-white to color. The transformation of silver-halide film to a higher-sensitivity, higher-image quality media has contributed greatly to this advancement. Currently the waves of digitization are engulfing the movie-making industry, and the use of digital cameras in motion picture filming is gaining in popularity. However, the silver-halide photosensor can adopt a three-dimensional arrangement (stratification) via multi-layer application, to achieve high sensitivity, high resolution and wide latitude in design. And systems using silver-halide film can be used almost permanently, due to the fact that the silver-halide sensor can be continuously upgraded without the need to change the system. On the basis of this evidence we developed a new daylight type motion picture color negative film called REALA 500D. Utilizing Fuji's proprietary "fourth color-layer technology," REALA 500D boasts a sensitivity of E.I.500, the world's highest among daylight-type films with its outstanding faithfulness to color, superb adaptability to mixed lighting environments and improved reproduction of skin tones.
