Platelet activation,aggregation and thrombus formation are all directly involved in acute coronary syndromes such as Myocardial Infraction and Unstable Angina.The GPIIb/IIIa receptor,which is the major fibrinogen (Fg) receptor and belongs to the integrin family,plays an important role in this process.This receptor,is the most abundant integrin found on the surface of platelets and it ranges from 50,000-80,000 copies/plat elet [1,2].
