Micropattern formation of apatite by combination of biomimetic method and transcription of resist pattern

Combination of biomimetic method and transcription of resist pattern was made to form micropattern of apatite. A resist pattern printed substrate was set in contact with CaO-SiO{sub}2 based glass in a simulated body fluid (SBF) with ion concentrations nearly equal to human blood plasma, and then soaked in a aqueous solution with ion concentrations 1.5 times those of SBF (1.5SBF). Apatite formation on the substrate was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Next, by soaking the substrate in acetone, resist material was removed with the apatite formed just on and micropattern of apatite transcribing the resist material was formed. This method is promising for producing multifunctional materials having bioaffinity.
