摘要

A series of new liquid crystalline cyclic siloxane hexamers was prepared to investigate the influence of the molecular structure of the mesogenic side group on their mesomorphic behaviour. Preliminary studies of properties of cyclic siloxanes bearing the various mesogenic side group by means of polarized optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and X-Ray diffraction are reported.
