摘要

Thermal promoters made of carbon fiber with high thermal conductivity are inserted in a packed bed reactor to improve effective thermal conductivity of packed bed reactors. In this study, installation of carbon fiber cloths in the packed bed is particularly investigated to reduce contact thermal resistance between reactor wall and thermal promoter. The experimental results show that it is essential to improve thermal contact resistance. This tendency is similar to the numerical results obtained by a two-dimensional numerical model describing heat and mass transfer. Numerical model also shows that there are effective factors to improve reaction rate with appropriate values.
