Experiments on convective heat transfer from a rotating drum with fin array to air are performed to obtain the heat transfer correlation for the commercial-use type drums at operating conditions. The diameter of the drum and the fin height are 326mm and 15mm, respectively. The fin angle ranges from 0° to 45°. It is shown that the heat transfer data are divided into two regions: forced convection region, which is represented by Nu=c{sub}1Re{sup}l (l=0.60-0.80), and mixed convection region, by Nu=c{sub}2(GrPr){sup}(1/3). Complexity of the heat transfer characteristics can be explainable by considering the amount of the contribution of the two heat transfer mechanisms.
