摘要

The majority of epidemiological studies involving H. parasuis from Brazilian swine herds are based on serotyping. However, a high percentage of isolates are reported non-typable (1,2,4). Recently, a molecular-based technique targeting enterobacterialrepetitive intergenic consensus sequences (ER1C-PCR) was successfully used to characterize the diversity of H. parasuis isolates and the epidemiology of //. parasuis infections within and between herds. This technique was more discriminatory than serotyping and was able to characterize non-typable isolates (3). The present study was designed to characterize the molecular epidemiology of H. parasuis field isolates recovered from Brazilian swine herds using ERIC-PCR.
