摘要

The characteristic atrophy of the nasal turbinates in Progressive Atrophic Rhinitis (PAR) is caused by toxigenic Pasteurella multocida, able to produce the dermonecrotic toxin (DNT) (1), which is essential in the development of the progressive form ofthe disease. Management and environmental factors can enhance the effects of the disease, and vaccination is known to be a valuable tool in reducing its clinical and pathological impact. Protection against PAR involves the vaccination of sows and the transfer of passive immunity to their piglets via colostrum (1). This study was designed to compare the serological response in two groups of gilts after the two basic vaccinations, with two different vaccines against PAR.
