摘要

Microscopy can be a very good technique to study the deterioration of concrete but it can not be used by itself. It is necessary to apply complementary methods to get the best conclusions of the study. This paper describes some of these techniques (x-ray diffraction and thermal analysis) followed by the mineralogical calculation. This technique is useful to detect the type of degradation process to which the concrete has been submitted. Yet, an example of the application of these techniques will be presented.
