Cells and materials interactions

摘要

The interaction of cells and tissues beginns immediately after insertion of implant materials into the body of a host. The potential of reactions from the host cells and tissues are limited. The cell systems involved vary in the course of time in number and activity. Therefore, a sequence of materials can be generated according to cellular reactivity. The relative reactivity was postulated as a measure of cell number and activity. The major role of macrophages in the system of reactive cells is well established. The reason for the presence of macrophages at the interface of some specific materials and not in others is poorly understood.
