Investigations concerning the protection of underground waters against pollution within some tailing dam areas in Romania

The gold pyrite concentrates resulted at thedressing plants from RAC DEVA are either directly processedby metallurgical plants or cyanidated. The concentratecyanidation is carried out at E.M. Bain de Aries and as a resultof the dressing process there results a gold mud and law gradenoble metal pyrite that is used at the sulfuric acid production.The paper presents the design of a deposit for cyanidatedtailings. Taking into consideration that they contain noxiousmatters which have a negative impact on the environment -water, air, earth, it is necessary to careyont an "EnvironmentallySafe Deposit" consisting of imperious area using newtechnologies and materials of geomembrane and geotextile typesas well as local materials which do not allow the infiltration ofthe noxious matters in the ground or underground and surface waters either.
