In this context, studies on the granulation processwith addition of some specific organic substances are made.Three binders (A, B, C) are used in the experiment. The testresults show that binder C which contains benzenoid and severaldifferent polar functional groups works most effectively, and a isnot a perfect binder due to its too high solution viscosity. On thebasis of granulation experiment, the behaviour of C is alsodiscussed by analysing the influence of C on threerepresentative layers in sintering process. C can not onlyintensify the granulation process but also improve thepermeability of drying, pre-heated and condensed layers. Sinterpot experiment offers further credibility for the above results. With addition of C, sinter productivity increases about 7 percentwithout any detriment to the metallurgical properties of sinter product.
