Currently, clays are used as absorbents for catlitters, cleaning up motor oil, grease and other organic dirties,bleaching earth in foodstuff industry, adsorbent forpharmaceutical purposes, catalysis carrier for chemical andother uses. The clays traditionally used as absorbents arebentonite, sepiolite, attapulgite and Fuller's earth. Bleachingearth which is obtained after the activation of bentonite arecommonly used in the oil industry. Our studies are coveringdevelopment of the activation levels of the less suitablebentonites by using some additives and treatment methods.During these studies all raw bentonites, intermediate and finalproducts are examined with some analysis and bleachingperformance, for determining the kinetics of activation and mostsuitable treatment method depending upon the type of bentonites.
