In this paper, the effect of the hydrophobicagglomerant on the flotation of fine molybdenite particles hasbeen studied. It is shown that the UBC-1 latex, which waspreviously reported to be very efficient in agglomeratinghydrophobic coal particles, brought about a strongagglomeration of fine molybdenite but only in the presence ofMIBC. Adsorption tests have confirmed that MIBC is adsorbedonto molybdenite surface. A significant improvement in theflotation of fine molybdenite has been observed in the presenceof the UBC-1 agglomerant, the best results have been obtainedat pH 5.5 which corresponds to the value where the molybdenitezeta potential is a minimum.
