Amine-containing oils as extenders in the flotation of sylvinite ores

A wide range of sylvinite ores were used to testflotation of coarse fractions, which constitute the most valuableproduct, using various AKZO amines. Since extender oil isneeded in the flotation of coarse fractions, the addition of oilmay follow conditioning with amine, or amine can be dissolvedm the oil. The tests revealed that the iodine value of amine maybe an important indicator of amine collecting properties and themanner in which the amine should be utilized (either in the formof aqueous dispersion or dissolved in an extender oil).
