Adsorption of carboxylate collectors on magnetite and their influence on the pelletizing process

Market demands from the steelmaking industryhave put greater emphasis on low phosphorous metallurgy. Tosatisfy these requirements, LKAB has been using flotation ontheir pelletizing concentrate for the last 15 years. Incollaboration with Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry, suppliers ofcollectors for the flotation process, extensive research has beencarried out to study the adsorption of carboxylate collectors onmagnetite and to determine the effects of optimization of flotation parameters.
