Investigations of two stage aeration of coal slurries in column flotation

Investigation work was conducted with aflotation column of 50 dm~3 volume and of 3.5 m height.Aeration of coal slurries was realized using a Venturi tubeplaced near the intake of the feed (top air), by means of acyclone placed near the bottom of the column (bottom air) or byapplying both methods simultaneously. It was found that theimplementation of two stage aeration was very advantageous,making possible an increase of aeration degree of the suspensionand obtaining better and predetermined upgrading results.
