Zinc ferrites have been obtained from sulphuricpickling waste waters aiming at the iron recovery in the form ofa valuable product. Both the ceramic and the hydrothermalsynthesis methods have been essayed. The ferrite formationprocess was followed by means of differential thermal analysisand differential scanning calorimetry. X-ray powder diffractionand scanning electron microscopy were used in order to studythe crystalline structure and the morphology of the samples.Environmental incidences of both methods are discussed.
