Applies EEG (electroencephalograms) to a human interface. Currently, we are investigating event-related potentials from the posterior parietal cortex, which seem to be related to "attention" and/or "fast eye movements", allowing us to develop an eye movement prediction system. Our psycho-physiological studies show that the very low frequency component of the EEG which is recorded from the posterior parietal cortex of human subjects rapidly decreases 100 ms before starting eye movements. Although we have not yet confirmed that this is related to motor control or attentional process in the brain, it might be possible to apply it as a precursor signal of eye movements.
