Compliance with the Aerospace NESHAP - Summary of Requirements for Affected Sources and the Impact of the Draft Supplement and Draft Control Techniques Guideline

The Aerospace National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) impacts aerospace manufacturing or rework facilities that are major sources for hazardous air pollutants. Operations at these facilities are subject to material property, emissions control, and work practice requirements. The recently issued Draft Aerospace NESHAP Supplement proposes changes to some of these requirements. In addition, the Draft Control Techniques Guideline requires aerospace sources in ozone nonattainment areas to implement Reasonably Available Control Technology for control of volatile organic compounds. The potential ramifications of these documents on the methods used to demonstrate compliance with the Aerospace NESHAP are addressed.
