摘要

To diagnose arterial disease using ultrasound, it is required that the Doppler signal analysis algorithm should have high accuracy for mean/maximum frequency estimation and high detection sensitivity for turbulence-induced spectral broadening. When using the short time Fourier transform the bandwidth of the pulsed Doppler signal is overestimated because of window and nonstationarity broadening. By deriving the broadening width from the signal arising from the spectral centre-frequency variation, the increase in the bandwidth can be corrected. Using this method on in vitro Doppler signals, a significant reduction in the bandwidth estimation error can be seen.
