SOME GLASSES UNEARTHED FROM A TOMB OF THE WARRING STATES PERIOD

In this paper, some glasses excavated from Zhongshan Prince's tomb of the Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.) were investigated. The chemical compositions of five glass samples and the corroded products of a lead barium glass were analysed. The results show that the chemical composition can be divided into two compositional types: one belongs to PbO-BaO-SiO_2 system glass and the other belongs to soda lime glass. The lead isotope ratios of some glasses were determined and the provenances of glasses are discussed.
