In order to investigate a human faculty to recognize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional figures, a method was developed by the authors. A set of problems is constructed with figures of proposed solid and some candidates which drawn by oblique projection. Subjects are required to select an identical object to the proposed one from candidates. The candidates are similar configuration to the proposed one projected from different visual points and include one correct answer. Both of the proposed objects and the candidates are constructed with cubes same in dimension and number each other in a problem. Using this set of problems, an investigation was conducted on 4,476 primary school children in Fukuoka city, Japan. From the investigation, it became clear the availability of this method. The results are summarized as follows: 1) The average score, the number of correct answers, increases linearly with school grade. 2) The distribution of number of correct answers are normal in each school grade. 3) The grade of difficulty of the problems was adequate for all primary school grade.
