A TECHNIQUE FOR THE RESTORATION OF A DISTORED LIGHT SHEET DISPLAY

The use of light sheet to investigate some cross flow patterns of a flow field is becoming more common in recent times. In order to avoid disturbing the flow field by the recording equipment(such as camera, video recorder, ...etc.), one can only take the flow patterns picture (visualized by a light) through an observing window of a tunnel wall, therefore the display is usually distored. As a matter of fact, a restored flow pattern is necessary for quantitative analysis. This paper presents a technique suitable for restoring a distorted light sheet display simply, quickly, and cheaply.
