Advances in High Voltage Outdoor Dry Type Cable Terminations: An Easy to Install Cable Termination Design that Combines Capacitive Graded Stress Control with a Robust Self-Supporting Termination Body

The safety and environmental risks that have sometimes been associated with oil-filled cable terminations have led to the development of dry type, non-oil products for customers who wanted to minimize their HV cable termination risks. This paper discusses a new dry type, outdoor HV cable termination product that uses a self-supporting capacitance graded termination body and a simple, on-the-ground hardware and stress cone installation that provides durability and reliability in all extreme conditions.
