Ambient temperature has sensible influence on parameters of single mixed refrigerant cycle forliquefaction of natural gas: decreasing natural gas inlet temperature and mixed refrigeranttemperature in aftercooler in wintertime. System adjusting to ambient conditions can decreaseannualized energy consumption. Authors develop simulation model and determine optimal operationparameters depending on ambient temperature. Test installation and procedure to verify modelmadedata are described. Control operation modes depending on ambient conditions are suggested.Obtained results can be applied at LNG (liquefied natural gas) plants, which are based on singlemixed refrigerant cycle with phase separator.
