The unsteady motion of a slender body in liquid under an ice cover isconsidered. The ice cover is modelled as an elastic plate. To simulate themotion of the slender body, a source-sink system moving in the fluidwith a free surface is used. The strength of the source and sink and thedistance between them depend on body length and central cross-sectionarea. The solution is carried out using known integral and asymptoticmethods. The effects of an ice sheet thickness, its lateral stress, waterdepth, submergence depth on wave resistance and lift force of slenderbody is analyzed.
