Presents the development of a high-precision digital intelligentmagnetic heading system for land vehicle initial alignment. The systemis capable of compensating for compass error under different environmentconditions. For this purpose, a new fuzzy-set and neural-networktechnique is adopted to improve the accuracy of complete compensation ofthe compass error. The system may be trained in real time, and isapplicable to practical use. Experimental data is presented todemonstrate the effectiveness of the system
