This analysis has shown that production mouldings have an inherenthigh reliability under service conditions. Due to the fact that themajority of the system mouldings are operated well below 10kV, and thata 'worse-case' approach is adopted for the analysis, reliability shouldin actuality be substantially greater. It has been shown quantitativelythat routine monitoring of data from the test procedure outlined in thispaper will rapidly identify any change in moulding quality, andeliminate any mouldings that could potentially place a system at risk.Time dependence in the DC breakdown of joint mouldings has been shown tobe dominated by processes in the bulk material
