The difficulty young people have in purchasing houses in a developed city is a global issue. College and university graduates are the backbones in urban development, but their housing problems are often difficult to be solved. In this paper, we study the factors affecting housing afford ability of college and university graduates in Guangzhou. It is concluded that factors such as age, marriage and childbearing status, original family support, education level, and income have significant impact on housing affordability. Age and marriage status are the most important factors that impact housing affordability, while sexual difference is much less important. For graduates aging 24-29, house purchase mainly depends on the original family support. Also, higher university level leads to a higher chance to afford housing.
