A simple and efficient algorithm is presented for estimating the three-dimensional (3-D) location (two dimensional direction-of-arrival (DOA) and range) of a single source with uniform cross array (UCSA). Based on a correlation function, the DOA of source can be estimated with the uniform linear arrays (ULAs) existing in UCSA. Then, another correlation function is built to estimate the range. The proposed algorithm provides the low computational complexity and the high accuracy for the estimated values. Compared with two-dimensional (2D) multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm, numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.
