A BLE enabled APS for pedestrians of visually impaired

摘要

Accessible pedestrian signal (APS) is a device to provide information about pedestrian timing in nonvisual format such as audible tones, verbal messages, and vibrating surface. The pedestrian who is visually impaired crosses the street with the help of the APS. In this paper, we propose BLE enabled APS (BLE-APS) system providing improved functions to the pedestrians using smart phone.
