Studies of the interplay between magnetism and superconductivity are necessary for the design and fabrication of hybrid devices that have potential applications in the emerging field of spintronics. Multilayers (ML) of Nb/Ni with Nb layer thickness of 23 nm and Ni layer thickness between 2.5 and 5 nm have been fabricated by DC magnetron sputtering on Si (100) substrates. The samples exhibit textured growth of Nb (110) and Ni (111) layers with negligible interdiffusion and interface roughness.
