Survey on pairing based cryptography for wireless sensor networks

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) are increasingly used in most of the devices in the modern world. The nodes in the WSNs are mobile and vulnerable to attacks, so security is a major concern for WSNs. Applying cryptography for these WSNs pose a challenging task, because cryptographic algorithms require computation, and the WSN's have limited available resources. Sensor nodes have constraints such as communication and memory computations, thus key handling and allotment in WSNs is also a tough task. Pairing-Based Cryptography (PBC) provides a method for nodes to exchange the keys with no interaction in between them. We tend to highlight the various pairing based cryptographic algorithms that are being implemented on WSNs, and which perform efficiently.
