Route optimization is the most important part of road CAD system in route selection design. This paper has introduced Genetic Algorithms (GA) in road route selection design, establishing a complete and simple index system model for construction project appraisal by Multiobjective Optimization Problem (MOP). The GA has deficiencies of single objective function and rigid variation way, the combination of GA and MOP can overcome these weaknesses. The paper has developed a system based on GA and MOP, the optimization results are significant by many actual test. It proved that the combination of GA and MOP is very suitable in route optimization. The method can improve the design quality and reduce the intensity of the designers, it has definite practical value.
