摘要

Eccentricity of the systolic orifice in BAVs appears to amplify the turbulence intensity in the ascending aorta. The central orifice BAV shows characteristics identical to a pure aortic stenosis. These results suggest that eccentric BAV hemodynamics cannot be purely understood on the basis of stenosis levels, and eccentricity can play a key role in disease progression.
