The Aburra Valley is a sub-region located at the south central area of Antioquia department, Colombia, in the middle of The Central Andes Mountain chain. The area has a massive transportation system called SITVA (Spanish: Sistema integrado de transporte del Valle del Aburra). Parts of the system are "El Metro" as the main transportation way of the system (Urban electrical train), Metroplus (diesel Bus Rapid Transit System or BRT), Metrocable (aerial cableway operated by electric power), feeder diesel buses, bicycles, and recently a streetcar system.
