Dvring the Anti-Japanese War, the Kuomintang government was transferred to Chongqing City which leapt from an average medium-sized city in the remote southwestern region to the then Chinese capital and the Far East command center for the world's AntiFascist War. The Japanese Imperialists sent out fighters to savagely bombard the city along with its vicinity again and again, in order that they were able to completely destroy the Chinese people's strong will to fight against them. However, Chongqing people made the most of the subterranean features of the mountain city to turn underground spaces into covert facilities and conduct their production activities. They developed types of covert spaces with various functions under the city. The author hereof investigated and researched these underground spaces and finally offered effective ways of protection and utility for them.
