THE 'TRABOCCHI': THE 'TURCHINIO' CASE,EXPERIMENTAL TESTS AND MATHEMATICAL MODELS

摘要

Traditional product of the coastal architecture of Abruzzi region (Italy), the "fishing machine" known as "Trabocco" is an example of the ancient artisans' wooden architecture. Its basic "archetype" has been skilfully developed into an extraordinary variety of examples, each one of them tailored on the local coastal characteristics. Following the studies previously carried out to individuate and to characterize a basic typological structural model, this paper describes the trabocco known as "Turchinio" as a case study, with particular attention to the mechanical behaviour.
