Based on the recognition of context for physics teaching in current middle schools, this paper reports a web-based virtual lab (IWVL) for junior high schoolsȁ9; physics experimental teaching. The theoretical foundations for system design, system architecture, functional characteristics, experimental platforms, and four usage scenarios of IWVL are highlighted in the discussions.
