Construction of Matrix for Choosing Professional Knowledge Strategies and the Application to the Construction Industries

With the development of knowledge economics since 1980s, knowledge resources have become the core of enterprise competition. How to carry on the reformation in knowledge into the construction and its relative industries to adapt to the change is an important issue. Based on the knowledge management principle this paper puts forward a Matrix for Choosing Professional Knowledge Strategies (MCPKS). With the three typical professions in the chain of building industry architectural design, civil engineering and engineer consultation, the author points out the knowledge strategies that should be applied to the three professions first, then predicts the trend in choosing the knowledge strategies with the accumulation of the professional knowledge, and proposes a direction for these professional knowledge management to follow.
